Minutes of the LVT meeting of January 16, 2009:
There is one correction to the minutes of November 21, 2008 - a traffic light is planned for Route
35 North and New York Ave. not Route 35 South as reported in the minutes.
The January 16, 2009 meeting was called to order by LVT President Joe Marcianti. Also present
were 1st V.P Lach Cameron, Treasurer Alice Bass, Secretary Celeste Brockwell, and Directors Ann
Gorga and Sara Ardito.
Joe Ardito was nominated and approved as an LVT Director filling the seat vacated by Marie Lough.
The minutes and Treasurer's report were accepted as read.

Municipal:
- $60,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) possibly applied for use for access ramps at Oceanfront and Brown and Jersey City Aves. or rebuilding of the lifeguard headquarters
- Potential for 2 additional antennas on water tower. Increased revenue-will it be used to reduce taxes or spent?
- Need LVT representative to Lavallette Business Association. LVT to write a letter to them recommending Joe Ardito as our rep.
- Borough paid $1. for portable ice rink-not yet delivered.
- Request change from 50' to 25' parking distance from a stop sign to alleviate parking problem. LVT to send letter to M/C supporting this change.
- Councilwoman Zalom discusses relaxing of our pay-to-play ordinance. This ordinance has been in affect since March 2006 with no problems hiring professionals and contractors-actually saved tax dollars with present situation. LVT will closely watch this situation as we lobbied and supported this legislation.
- Councilwoman Zalom and Chief of Police Colin Grant propose extending hours for bike riding on the boardwalk from 5 a.m.-5 p.m.
- The Council opposes local school regionalization
- Professional and committee appointments were made by the Mayor for 2009
School report: There was no December meeting.

- Joe Ardito can teach Driver Safety course at $12. per person if an AARP member; $14 for non-members
