Minutes of the Lavallette Voters and Taxpayers regular meeting of May 16, 2008
Roll call: Officers and Directors present were Joe Marcianti, Lach Cameron, Celeste
Brockwell, Alice Bass, Ann Gorga and Marie Lough. Absent was Pamela Boright.
Minutes and Treasurer's report were accepted as read.
Membership: 579 paid memberships
Scholarship committee: 7 applications were received. Letters of award will be
mailed this week to each of the three students selected to receive a $500 scholarship.
Awards will be presented to the winners at the June 20th meeting.
Municipal
- Passage of the budget was tabled due to delay of receiving State Aid figures
- Heritage Committee and the 1st Aid are vying for position to sell beer at Heritage Day
- Ordinance to establish Borough Construction Inspection Department must be in place by July 1st since the County is no longer providing inspection services.
- Council will spend $2,500 for repairs of bus leased from a private individual
- Lavallette Police Department cannot piggy-back onto Toms River Police Department's computers for access to background information.
LVT President's annual report will be posted on our website and sent to The Ocean Star
Newspaper for publication.
