The meeting was called to order by President Joe Maricianti. Also present were 1st V.P. Lach Cameron, Treasurer, Alice Bass, Recording Secretary, Celeste Brockwell, Corresponding Secretary, Pamela Boright and Director, Lil Buirkle. Absent was 2nd V.P. Ralph Gorga, and Director Pat Hoffman.
The minutes and treasurer's report were accepted as read.
The LVT Budget for the year 2007 was presented and unanimously accepted.
Communications:
Held their reorganization meeting, but due to Mayoral election in Lavallette being declared null and void*, the Planning Board appointments may not stand. The Planning Board will meet next Wednesday.
*Thursday, January 18th, Superior Court Judge, Joseph Foster, declared the Mayoral election in Lavallette null and void as a result of "over-zealous" voters. Further declared, was that the voter irregularities were no fault of either candidate, Joe Ardito or Walter LaCicero.
Beach report:
Alice Bass gave a detailed report of the results of her information gathered from neighboring municipalities operation of their beaches. She spoke with representatives from Seaside Heights and Seaside Park.
The purpose of her investigation was due to concerns with lost beach revenue in Lavallette, yet, increased revenue for beaches in other municipalities. Highlights of her report revealed:

School Board:
New playground area and equipment is near completion with funds being supplied by the PTA.
A concern and opposition to a movement to eliminate district superintendents and replace them with county superintendents. The Lavallette Board feels this would be less efficient and more costly.
Reports of LVT committees were accepted unanimously.
Pay-to-Play: LVT president, Joe Marcianti, is concerned as to whether or not the Pay-to-Play ordinance passed by Council in October was ever signed. When Joe Marcianti questioned the Borough Administrator, Chris Parlow, he stated that 'there was no veto.' But, never said that it was signed. Joe is waiting to hear from Parlow about a signature on the ordinance.
Rules to be adopted by council-Councilman Joe Ardito discussed with the membership some of his concerns and suggestions about the rules to be adopted and will present them to council for their consideration. Other concerns discussed were the need to have a distinction between council's caucus and regular meetings.
