LVT's Annual Report from LVT President Joseph Marcianti
LVT continues as a strong advocate for the Voters and Taxpayers of Lavallette. LVT has a newly designed website that provides updated information about our association, its activities and Borough happenings. The by-laws committee has worked tirelessly to provide that our association will function smoothly and efficiently. Three $500. Scholarships are offered to full-time students who live in Lavallette as well as children and grandchildren of LVT members. An extensive study of neighboring beaches was undertaken by our LVT Treasurer, Alice Bass suggesting to Mayor and Council a plan to run our beaches more efficiently and increasing revenue. John Paff, an advocate for Open Government has been invited to speak at the June 15th meeting of LVT to raise awareness about the responsibilities of government to provide open access to information for the public. Members of the LVT Executive Board attended numerous meetings at the Ocean County Board of Elections prior to the special Mayoral election held on March 13th. LVT continues to work to increase membership in our association. Officers and Directors of LVT are volunteers. As in many organizations, volunteers are always sought-after commodities. We would appreciate those who would like to participate as an Officer or Director to please contact us. I wish to thank all of those who participated in the past, those presently with us and welcome new faces. I want to also acknowledge the loss in January 2007 of the founder of LVT, Ralph Gorga. He was the force that drove this organization and we will continue to do so in his memory.
